Cassandra Sedelmaier holds a B.S. in Criminal Justice (Investigative Services) and an M.S. in National 安全 and 公共安全 from the University of New Haven. Prior to her work in education, Cassandra worked as an investigator and intelligence analyst, most notably as Intelligence Operations Manager in the 企业安全 and brand protection division (anti-counterfeiting and diversion) of a Fortune 500 company and one of the 20 largest global pharmaceutical and animal health brands. Cassandra’s experience and areas of expertise include surveillance, 企业安全, 供应链安全, 情报分析, and private investigation. As an investigator and analyst, Cassandra has experience conducting and managing a wide array of investigations, including insurance fraud, pharmaceutical anti-counterfeiting and drug diversion, organized retail crime, and financial fraud including securities fraud, anti-money laundering and due diligence/KYC investigations.

After re-joining University of New Haven as an adjunct instructor in 2016, 教授. Sedelmaier discovered her passion for education. 教学的兼职, the opportunities being an educator provided her to be a part University of New Haven’s legacy of academic excellence and student support inspired her to transition into full-time education, completing Quinnipiac University’s Master of Arts in Teaching program. 教授. Sedelmaier’s graduate research explored the use of restorative justice/restorative practice to disrupt the school-to-prison pipeline, reflecting her commitment to youth justice. Prior to joining the University of New Haven faculty full-time in 2022, Cassandra gained valuable pedagogical experience in education, supporting special education, 非母语英语课程, 和AP学生, as well as using restorative practice to manage and support students with behavioral issues and emotional disturbance. Her transition to academia is driven by a passion for inclusive teaching and 教授.
